About Built to Last: A Girls Build Fundraising Bash

Ten years ago, Girls Build started with a simple idea: what if girls got hands-on with power tools, blueprints, and big ideas before anyone told them they couldn't?

This year, we're celebrating a milestone—the first girls who came to camp at age 8 are turning 18. We've watched them grow from first-time hammer-holders into young women who see the trades not as someone else's career, but as their own.

Along the way, Girls Build has grown too; from one summer camp to programs reaching girls across Oregon, building skills, confidence, and a real sense of what's possible.

We're also closing a gap the industry knows well: the average age of a trades apprentice is 28. Girls Build starts at 8—giving girls a decade's head start, so instead of discovering the trades in their late twenties, they're walking onto job sites ready in their early twenties.

Join us for an evening celebrating 10 years of growth and looking ahead to what's next: dinner, drinks, storytelling from our girls, a live auction, and a whole lot of fun—all in support of building the next generation of the workforce, one girl at a time.
