THANK YOU FOR WORKING WITH GIRLS BUILD!
We are excited to have you! Thank you for presenting a workshop at Girls Build this year. We really appreciate you offering a deeper curriculum to our campers than what we could offer on our own. Here is everything you need to get you to camp and through the day!
Please read below and email email@example.com if you have any questions.
Please arrive with enough time to set up. Your first workshop will begin either at 9am or 10am depending on your specific schedule. You should have received an email with your schedule. If not please contact us.

CAMP RULES AND SPECIFICS
Here is the link to our Instructor Guide, but here is a quick list of important things to note.
Campers cannot go to the bathroom by themselves, or with you alone. We have a buddy system—send a camper to the bathroom with one other camper. If you have many campers that need to go, holler at a Girls Build instructor and have them take the whole group
Campers must stay in their scheduled workshop for the full 80 minutes. Please plan accordingly.
Photos: Campers with a dot on their hard hats cannot have their photos taken. Also, you do not have a release from parents, so while it’s fine to use photos on social media, please do not use these photos in your advertising or on websites.
Girls 8 and 9 years old cannot use a chopsaw, but will be trained on the jigsaw. Girls 10 and up will be trained on the chop saw. Either way, they will need supervision by someone very experienced on the saws. If you cannot provide this expert supervision, please reach out to a Girls Build instructor (who will be wearing a shirt that says “Instructor” on the back)
Safety: Safety is obviously our number one priority. Please model proper PPE at all times. If a child is doing something that makes you even slightly nervous, have them stop. There is no harm in pausing, reexamining proper procedure, and then proceeding more safely and with more supervision.
Girls Build is paying for food this year per person. It is $11 for the day to enjoy breakfast and lunch. If your company or organization cannot sponsor you (our preference) then we are happy to pay for your meals. We are trying to keep costs low, so getting your company or organization to sponsor you helps us save money.
Breakfast and lunch are provided through the University of Portland cafeteria. You will have access to at least three different options per meal, and we are confident you will be able to find something to suit your preferences and needs. You of course may bring your own breakfast and lunch.
WHAT TO WEAR
Presenters MUST wear:
Short or pants (skirts and dresses are welcome but you may get dirty)
Shirts with sleeves (not necessarily long-sleeves, just no tank tops).
Girls Build staff will be monitoring the weather, but if it is quite hot out, please keep an eye on your campers. If any specific camper seems to be flagging, get a First Aid Certified staff person to come take a look.
The Schedule runs roughly as follows. Any alteration will be on the schedule board near the trailer.
